Isopon P40 Body Filler is a high-performance, glass fibre reinforced polyester filler designed for strong, durable repairs to metal, fibreglass, wood, and rigid plastics. Engineered for structural strength as well as surface restoration, this heavy-duty filler is ideal for repairing rust holes, cracks, dents, splits, and perforations where standard fillers would lack reinforcement. Its integrated strand glass fibres provide exceptional bridging capability, allowing it to span holes and damaged areas while maintaining long-term rigidity and impact resistance.
Formulated for professional and trade use, Isopon P40 delivers outstanding adhesion and mechanical strength once cured. It bonds securely to properly prepared substrates, creating a tough repair layer that can be shaped, sanded, drilled, and painted. Coverage:
Coverage depends on thickness of application and repair size. As a guide, approximately 1 kg will cover about 1 square metre at 1 mm thickness. Thicker fills will proportionally reduce coverage.
Drying and Curing Time:
Working time is typically 4–6 minutes after mixing with hardener (at 20 °C). Initial set occurs within 15–20 minutes, allowing sanding and shaping shortly after application. Full cure is generally achieved within 1–2 hours depending on temperature, humidity, and filler thickness.
Application and Preparation:
For best results, surfaces should be clean, dry, and free from rust, grease, paint, and contaminants. Roughening the surface with abrasive paper improves adhesion. Mix thoroughly with the supplied hardener until colour is uniform, then apply immediately using a spreader or applicator. Once cured, the repair can be sanded smooth and over-coated with primer and paint.
